3D打印曾被大肆宣传，视为过度炒作的话题。但是，由于中国政府视3D打印为实现“中国制造2025”计划的一大推动力，使得3D打印这一产业逐渐回暖，可以看到蓬勃发展的趋势。
本周二，IDC中国分析师莫敏仪指出：2016年中国市场的3D打印机出货量将达到16万台，超越美国市场。不过，从市场收入来看，美国市场将依然领先中国。
Shipment of 3D printers in the Chinese market is expected to reach 160,000 units in 2016, outperforming the U.S. market, market research firm IDC said on Tuesday.
Mo Minyi, an analyst with IDC China, said despite sales' volume, China will still lag behind the United States in terms of sales revenue.
这是由于中国3D打印机市场在未来五年的增长主要是由价格较低的桌面3D打印机带动。相反，美国3D打印市场相对比较重视工业应用，而企业用户更偏向于采用价格较高的高端3D打印机。
Inexpensive desktop 3D printers account for a large proportion in China while in the United States, corporate users buy more expensive high-end devices, Mo said.
从2014年开始，3D打印机销售量开始在中国有所增长，2014年出货量超过3.4万台。IDC预计2015年的出货量增长率将超过120%，达到7.7万台。
Shipment of 3D printers in China is expected to more than double to 77,000 units in 2015 from 34,000 units in 2014, driven mainly by strong demand for desktop 3D printers costing less than 5,000 U.S. dollars, Mo said.
随着中国政府公布的“十三五”规划及推行“中国制造2025”计划，中国将大力推动培养创意人才及制造业转型改革。中国整体3D打印机市场将会维持较高增长率。预计到2020年，该市场年复合增长率将达到43%，出货量将超过44万台。
As China upgrades its manufacturing base, the demand for high-end 3D printers could surge. IDC forecast that shipment of 3D printers will exceed 440,000 in 2020 with annual growth of 43 percent in the next five years.
莫敏仪总结道：“中国3D打印机生产商不能单靠价格突围而出，而应该深入了解及研究如何为企业客户提供细分市场方案，体现3D打印的价值，增加自身竞争力。”
